Lost Key Golf & Beach Club – Paradise Just off the Beach

After spending the first day enjoying at beach at our rental condo it was time check out the local scene. Three of us had taste from some raw oysters so headed to one of our old time favorites to find they were out of oysters. We then headed down to the Perdido Key Oyster Bar Restaurant. The PK Oyster Bar is a nicely done and comfortable restaurant with large windows for a view of the canal and the boat traffic. It also has a nice deck if you chose to eat outside. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It was mid-afternoon so they were not busy and we only wanted a light snack. Three of us ordered a dozen Oysters on the half shell, one ordered the Seafood Bisque and the fifth member of our party chose the Blue Cheese Kettle Chips. Those who had the bisque and kettle chips rated them both high and really enjoyed them. The oysters were a nice size and had a good flavor but not the best we have had. My only real complaint is raw oysters should be served on a bed of ice and these were not. As we only had light snacks I cannot honestly fully rate Perdido Key Oyster Bar Restaurant. However my impression, as a long time eastern shore resident, is it an average to good restaurant with good service and average prices but not an excellent restaurant. All in all we really enjoy our visit to Perdido Key Oyster Bar Restaurant Quickly seated, food arrived in about 20 minutes. Food was very good and priced reasonably well for the quantity provided. Had a seafood dinner and it was prepared well except shrimp were over cooked as rubbery. Nothing especially noteworthy but overall a good dinner out. Nice views of the intercoastal waterway. Had a great dinner with friends. We all enjoyed the food, service and view! The seafood bisque is over the top delicious! The oysters half shell were very good as well as the peel n eat shrimp. A beautiful quiet dinner on the deck overlooking the Intercoastal on a nice Fall evening with friends! The seafood bisque is a MUST! My family and I arrived for dinner around 6:00 on a Sunday. We had to wait over 45 minutes for a table even though there were a ton of empty tables during our entire wait. After we were finally seated, we sat at the table for 20 minutes without even being acknowledged. I had to ask a passing server who our server was. When our server finally came, we ordered drinks and our meals. It took at least another 10 minutes to get our drinks. The server didn't know which iced teas were sweet and unsweet and just handed them to us to figure out. After being there for 50 minutes, I had to ask the hostess where our server went because we still had not received our salads. When the server finally brought them out, he said there was no one there making salads, even though the customers seated after us had already gotten theirs. One of our salads was missing dressing, one had onions when we asked for no onions, and one salad didn't even come out. We were there well over an hour before we got our dinner. The server dropped some of our calamari on the floor and table. He never stopped by to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. We had to ask for straws, silverware, and refills. He didn't even give us a pen for the check. We will never go back. We went here while in Pensacola going to the museum. This is a great little restaurant sitting at a marina. While we were eating locals docked and came in to eat. Say no more, right? All the food was hot, super fresh and the staff Jeanna was great! They have an outdoor area if you want but plenty of seating inside in the air conditioning. The Tiki Travel Planner's tasty tidbit here is to order the scallops. We did not see many places that have scallops so we ordered them and they were awesome!

The Flora-Bama Lounge marketing director is referring to the 1964-built joint outside Pensacola that was once just a roadhouse and package store.
